Location right by Close to the center. Comfortable bed, brand-new room, clean facilities. Lovely view from our window...

We had a wonderful stay at Gateway International Motel. The highlight was definitely the mineral pool, which was a great way to relax after a long day of exploring. We also appreciated the convenient location, making it easy to visit nearby shops. The bed was comfortable and provided a reasonable night's sleep.

Loved the mineral pool. When we booked, we didn't know there was an elevator, which was a nice pleasant surprise as I traveled with my mother who couldn't really do stairs. Parking was easy, and the motel cat was also very friendly. The location was great and as the motel can be access via Malfroy, it saved me having to do a u-turn in order to access it so that's another plus.

The hot water was ... mild at best. The temperature was fine as it was hot enough, it was the water pressure that I have issue with. It wasn't just soft, it was basically so weak, I almost couldn't wash my hair with it. The motel could be cleaner, though it was acceptable. However, the bed was too soft for me. It was so terrible I couldn't sleep, but it definitely could not be said to have support. Another issue I had was bugs, but I guess that's not the motel's fault, but rather because it's summer. However, one big minus point for this hotel, was the lack of privacy while no one is in the room. They had simple curtains to block the corridor facing windows and glass pane door, which was fine so long as the door was locked from the inside. But if everyone was to leave the room, and to lock it from the outside, the design was such that one has to leave the curtain open for the door and thus allowing anyone to walk by the room to be able to tell that no one was inside. We drove down from Auckland so didn't have valuables with us to worry about, but if someone was say an international tourist, there was very little chance of hiding anything from plain sight. So the motel should definitely consider providing more coverage for the door with say blinds or other less see-through materials.

The rooms were spacious with a spa bath, giving a sense of home, and the location was convenient, close to attractions and easy to get around.

The unit was very clean and roomy. Great for a family of 4-5. Very quiet, we experienced very liitle road noise or noise from other guests. Handy location with lots of supermarkets, shopping and food outlets close by.

There seemed to be a bit of a hot water issue (to be fair quite common in many motels). Very low pressure so shower quite weak. Also room had own spa but water to fill was only luke warm at best. Motel does have private mineral pools though so spa not essential

The room we were given was very tired, mouldy curtains , hooks missing from curtains, ill fitting curtains on main door leaving gaps at either end, graffiti scratched in to painted wall , lack of bedside tables. Badly worded and incorrect spelling of instructions in Hotel room folder.

everything was fantastic, had a very very good stay for one night. its location relatively near the spa rotorua was favourable. it was located in a calm area close enough to the shops walking distance, an ideal place for me.

Lack of hot water, no pressure in the shower and the spa had no hot water at all. One of the rooms still had dirty dishes and old bread in the cupboards

I had a great deal on a room with three beds, and the place was quite clean throughout.

Easy to check in, Friendly receptionist, Liked the hot pool. All necessary facilities OK.

1. Lace curtain in bathroom dirty on the bottom edge. 2. Water did not drain quickly from shower. Water pressure in shower not suffcient. Not practical to use the spa in these circumstances. 3. I had to tighten the shower head to the flexible hose because of leakage and hence insufficient water going through the shower rose. 4. The pneumatic lift was not calibarated correctly. There was a 60 mm step from the floor of the lift to the landing on the top floor.

This hotel is the perfect option if you're looking for a great value for your money. The basic amenities are all there, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, right in the town centre, close to everything. Plus, we found it very comfortable after long days of activities!

All was ok and we enjoyed our stay.

Great for family, space to play and trampoline as well as own hot tub, friendly owners very helpful with choosing where to go.
